I was invited to work the 2016 Kicker County Stampede in Manhattan, Kansas. Home of my Alma mater Kansas State and Aggieville. The three day concert festival is held out north of town by the beautifully wooded area called Tuttle Creek. The huge dam is a backdrop which helps with the acoustics but also makes the feel of a private area.
Folks from four to five different states make the annual pilgrimage to camp out and see their favorite acts. The premium performers this year were Jake Owen, Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt and Chris Janson. My job was to shoot videos with VIP patrons, vendors and campsite attendees. I had my own little golf cart that would whirl my cameraman and myself ALL ACCESS around the grounds.
A must and bucket list for Stampede is VIP. You receive a reserved seating within 50 rows of stage, private restrooms just off of the stage, catered meals under air conditioned tents, and earlier access to the grounds. If you want to enjoy country music and beat the heat: GO VIP! Thanks to Wayne Rouse for having me and I can confirm: I’ve been asked to attend next year!
I also did a bunch of promotional videos for Country Stampede. These were mainly for their twitter, facebook, instagram and social media platforms but some of them did show up on the Jumbo-tron in front of 150k fans in attendance.
